Description
What the 2D Baby Scan Checks
- Baby’s heartbeat and cardiac activity
- Baby’s growth pattern compared to gestational age
- Baby’s position inside the womb
- Basic well-being markers: visible movement, overall development for current stage
- Amniotic environment overview (basic fluid/surroundings impression where visible)
This scan focuses on medical reassurance: “Is baby’s heartbeat okay? Is baby roughly the right size for this stage?”
Who Should Get This 2D Scan
- Mothers who want to check baby’s heartbeat and movement between routine antenatal visits
- Mothers who feel reduced movement or are worried about baby’s activity
- Mothers who want to confirm general growth and position
- Mothers who want a documented update to discuss with their primary antenatal provider
How the 2D Scan Works
- Brief Pregnancy Review
Gestational age, symptoms (pain, spotting, reduced movement, nausea) and any recent concerns are noted. - 2D Ultrasound Imaging
A standard obstetric 2D ultrasound is performed. The clinician visualises baby in real time, checks heartbeat and estimates fetal size for that stage of pregnancy. - Findings Explained
You are shown baby’s heartbeat, approximate growth, general position and visible movement. If anything needs closer monitoring, you will be told immediately. - Next Step Advice
Guidance is given on normal follow-up, warning signs that require urgent review, and when to return for the next scan.
Why Choose Clinic-Based 2D Reassurance Scan
- Heartbeat Confirmation – Confirms baby’s cardiac activity so you have clarity instead of guessing from symptoms alone.
- Growth Snapshot – Gives a quick view of whether baby’s size is in line with the stated pregnancy age.
- Position & Movement Check – Helps explain what you are feeling (or not feeling) in terms of kicks, pressure and movement.
- On-the-Spot Explanation – You get direct explanation during the same visit instead of waiting for a printed report with no context.
- Ongoing Antenatal Support – If any concern is noted, you can be guided on whether it’s routine follow-up or something that needs faster attention.
