Description

What This Knee Treatment Covers

  • Acute knee pain after twisting, overuse, squatting, gym injury or sudden misstep
  • Warm, swollen, stiff knee that hurts to bend or take weight
  • Arthritis-type pain (grinding, stiffness, morning tightness)
  • Recurring knee flare linked to uric acid / gout
  • Knee inflammation that is not settling fast enough with rest alone

Who This Service Is For

  • Patients whose knee pain is stopping daily activity, work, stairs or sleep
  • Patients already assessed and confirmed suitable for medical management or injection
  • Patients with chronic knee wear-and-tear who need targeted inflammation control
  • Patients with gouty knee swelling who need rapid relief to stand and walk
  • Patients who are not ready for surgery but cannot function on pain alone

How Medication & Injection Treatment Works

  1. Focused Knee Review
The doctor confirms the source of pain (inflammation, gout flare, strain, suspected arthritis) and checks for red flags like possible ligament tear or infection. If red flags are present, injection will not be done and you’ll be guided appropriately.
  2. Prescription Medication
You may receive anti-inflammatory medication, pain control and supportive medication (for example stomach protection if NSAIDs are used), if clinically suitable. The aim is to calm swelling and allow basic movement.
  3. Targeted Joint Injection (If Appropriate)
A controlled injection is given directly to the affected knee area under sterile conditions. This is usually for significant inflammation or fluid-related irritation. The goal is to reduce pain and swelling quickly so you can bear weight, bend and function with less discomfort.
  4. Aftercare Instructions
You’ll be told how to protect the joint for the next 24–48 hours, what activities to limit temporarily, how to monitor for redness/heat/fever, and when mild soreness after injection is normal versus when to seek review.
  5. Follow-Up Plan
You’ll be advised on when to return, what to do if pain returns, and whether you may benefit from weight/load modification, uric acid control (if gout), physiotherapy-style strengthening later, or imaging if symptoms persist.

Why Choose WeCare Clinic for Knee Medication & Injection

  • Fast Functional Relief – Focus on getting you walking, standing, driving and sleeping with less pain.
  • Targeted Approach – Injection is only offered if the knee is suitable and no red flags are present. This avoids unsafe “blind” injections.
  • Inflammation + Cause Management – Pain is treated, but you’re also advised on the likely underlying cause (gout flare, overuse, early arthritis, etc.).
  • Clear Safety Guidance – You leave with written-style instructions on what you can do, what to avoid and what symptoms mean you should return sooner.
  • One-Stop Ongoing Care – If your knee issue is linked to gout, weight, chronic joint wear or repetitive strain from work, ongoing management can continue in the same clinic network instead of sending you elsewhere immediately.
